Who I am
My name is Mark Presnell, and I’m a proud husband and a father with a lifelong passion for electronics. From a young age, I was fascinated by the inner workings of gadgets and devices, which set the foundation for my career. After graduating high school, I pursued my interests further by taking courses in consumer electronics, industrial electronics, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and AC/DC drives. This training led to my first role as an electronic technician.
In 1999, I began working at Bellsouth Telecommunications, which marked the start of my journey in the telecommunications industry. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience in the field, ranging from the manufacturing of wiring used in telecommunications to the installation of both fiber optic and copper cabling. My hands-on expertise has given me a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s infrastructure and technologies.
In addition to my professional experience, I hold an Associate in Applied Science in IT: Cybersecurity, further broadening my technical skill set. In April of 2024, I took on an exciting new role as an Instructor for AT&T, where I train all new hires for the Wire Technician position. This role also required me to become an Instructor of Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, exploring waterfalls, watching college football and hockey, and engaging in video gaming. These activities help me stay active, connect with nature, and unwind after a busy day.
I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills with others, whether it’s through teaching, technical support, or hands-on work. Combining decades of industry experience with a dedication to helping others, I aim to make a positive impact in both technology and safety education.
